The 12 days of Christmas

Today is the winter solstice, the shortest day of the year, and the start of the ancient festival of Yule. It marks a turning point, in a way, and allows us a moment of optimism that brighter days are not too far ahead. We just need to get through Christmas first.

The good news is that there is still one more Pilates day before Christmas; two online classes full to the brim with exercises designed to prepare the body for the influx of turkey, Christmas pudding and Ferrero Rocher without which no modern-day festive season could be considered complete.

Not to forget the singing of carols, of course. Ahem...

On the twelfth day of Christmas Pilates gave to me

Twelve teasers teasing,

Eleven knees a-floating,

Ten top-leg bicycles,

Nine double leg lifts,

Eight figures of eight,

Seven supermen,

Six sexy shoulders,

Five circles each way,

Four swimming elbows,

Three clapping seals,

Two toe taps,

And a lovely flat tummy.

I hope you have a lovely Christmas and New Year. If you would like to join me for a live class, my online schedule is below (singing optional). If you find yourself at a loose end on a day when there is no class, don't forget that you can book to receive a recording of a previous class.
