Pilates equipment classes

Pilates equipment classes usually take place within a specialised Pilates studio, using custom-designed equipment.  The equipment differs from that found in a typical gym in that it is designed to either add challenge or to assist in performing Pilates exercises and is thus suitable for a wide range of people.

Pilates equipment uses springs rather than weights, as these tend to be more supportive and versatile in use, encouraging the lengthening of muscles rather than building bulk.

My equipment classes are either one-to-one or in small groups.  The exercises are specific to the needs of the individual client and will vary from session to session, with each person doing different exercises.  That way, each client can progress at their own pace and work on the areas of most relevance to themselves.  Equipment sessions are therefore highly recommended for anyone wanting to work on specific issues, rehabilitate from injury or receive individual guidance.

I teach the following equipment classes every week:

Mon 09:00 - 10:00 Yogaloom Muswell Hill (60 min group class)

Mon 10:00 - 11:15 Yogaloom Muswell Hill (60/75 min group class)

Tue 12:00 - 16:00 Triyoga Camden (60 min private classes)

Tue 17:00 - 21:00 Eternite Pilates, Golders Green (60 min group classes)

Pilates matwork classes

My matwork classes need no special equipment other than a Pilates mat. I teach matwork classes both in studios and online. Some studios run simultaneous in-person and online matwork classes, so you can attend in the way that suits you best.

In a matwork class, participants follow the instructions and demonstrations of the teacher.  My classes are either 60 or 75 minutes in length and consist of a variety of exercises selected from the Pilates repertoire.

In every class, we do a variety of exercises designed to mobilise the major joints of the body, strengthen weak muscles and stretch tight ones. The classes are suitable for everyone, of any ability, and include exercises to help improve balance, back pain and posture.

I teach the following studio-based matwork classes every week:

Sun 15:30 - 16:45 Triyoga Camden (in-person and online)

Mon 13:00 - 14:00 PilatesTree, Kentish Town (online only)

Wed 10:00 - 11:15 Triyoga Camden (in-person and online)
