With the spring equinox behind us, we can start to anticipate more daylight hours, warmer weather and maybe, just maybe, two consecutive days without rain. You never know.
Having swum our way through the UK's wettest February on record - with March not exactly arid either - I think we could all be forgiven for looking forward rather than back. Here in the UK we have something special to look forward to, as next weekend represents a happy concatenation of events:
It is Easter, the end of Holy Week and the most sacred part of the Christian year.
Easter eggs!
Good Friday and Easter Monday are public holidays in the UK, so we get time off from work (though admittedly the effect of this is diminished now that most only go into the office from Tuesday to Thursday and, ahem, "work from home" on Friday and Monday anyway).
Hot cross buns!
The clocks go forward, giving us an extra hour of daylight in the evening (more time outside, increased vitamin D, fewer road accidents, more grousing from Scottish early-risers)
This year, Easter Monday is April 1st, April Fools Day, when people are allowed to play all sorts of jolly japes and hilarious pranks on each other. Except on me.
I will let you rearrange that list into your own order of importance. But, dare I suggest, probably the best news is that my online Pilates classes will continue as normal throughout the Easter period. That means you can still join me for Pilates on Easter Sunday and Easter Monday!
Personally, I am looking forward to seeing you in one of my classes. You can book via the online classes page on my website.
