On the way to Christmas

The concept of "wintering" (slowing down, resting and renewing) became popular a few years ago, due to a book of the same name. It's become hard to avoid at this time of year and anyone visiting a bookshop will find guides on how to winter, the joy of wintering, poems to winter with and, for all I know, a wintering colouring book and jigsaw set.
By the way, on the subject of books: if you're wondering what I would like for Christmas, it's a review of my book! If you bought Pilates for Hip Replacement, please click here to leave a review. Even if you didn't, take it from me that it's a great book that you can safely give five stars. It only takes a few seconds to do and helps other people decide if the book is right for them, so I'd be very grateful.
I do rather like the concept of settling down and turning inwards at this time of year. As the weather turns colder and the gas bill goes through the roof (along with most of the heat), I find familiar routines, like decorating a tree or accumulating a year-long supply of Christmas puddings, very comforting.
Here at Abbott Mansions, the three kings (aka wise men or magi) have started their journey following yonder star. As they are coming from the Orient (and it's 2025), naturally the first thing they encounter is a Labubu. I have every faith they will cope with this shock and continue their trek undaunted; anyone attending my online classes can follow their progress throughout the Christmas period.
Which brings me neatly to my online class schedule for Christmas and the New Year, which is as follows:
Sunday 21 Dec 09:30-10:45
Monday 22 Dec 15:00-16:00
Thursday 25 Dec 08:45 & 17:00 - no classes
Sunday 28 Dec 09:30-10:45
Monday 29 Dec 15:00-16:00
Thursday 1 Jan 08:45 - 10:00 - no class
Thursday 1 Jan 17:00-18:00
For more details and to book a class, click here to go to the online classes page of my website.
All my online classes can be recorded, so you can do them at a time that suits you. Just book as usual and let me know at least an hour before that you would like a recording. After the class you will receive a link to the recording, which you can watch for up to seven days.
I wish you a joyful Christmas and a happy and healthy 2026.
Charles
